Our work is showing - the garden is starting to look good! We've made progress with weed and invasive removal, added new plants, and installed plant signs. We helped other park volunteers refurbish the gazebo, arbor, and benches. In a few months we'll be installing a kiosk and welcome sign.
All to prepare for a big Spring Garden Party to dedicate the new signage, unveil our "Adopt a Garden" program, and celebrate native plants.
There are still lots of areas we can improve, and we want to start working more on the habitat gardens beyond the gazebo. We have an interpretive sign panel about habitats (to replace the old, faded sign) in work as well.
Join us on the last Saturday of every month to help. Volunteers learn about plants, get to know one another, and enjoy being out in nature for a few hours. They also get free entry to the park on the day they volunteer.
