Lake Beautyberry and Passionflower Chapters submit a request each year for the Lake County Board of Commissioners to proclaim October as Florida Native Plant Month. This proclamation recognizes the importance of Lake County's native plants due to their uniqueness, support of wildlife, beauty, and contribution to conservation (see the proclamation here).
